Judge Lasheyl Stroud


Judge Lasheyl Stroud is an esteemed licensed attorney with nearly two decades of legal experience. She has a reputable history of serving as a Lead Magistrate in the Franklin County Court of Common Pleas, Domestic Relations & Juvenile Branch. Judge Stroud's passion for law and justice was evident early on, leading to her pivotal election in November 2020.


Before her appointment as a Magistrate in 2013, her career canvas portrayed a vibrant mix of public and private sector practice. This foundation in diverse legal settings equipped her with invaluable insights and a balanced perspective on justice and community service.


An academic achiever, Judge Stroud is an alumna of Kentucky State University, where she majored in Criminal Justice, honing her prowess for analyzing legal scenarios with precision and empathy. Her educational journey reached its pinnacle at The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law, where she graduated with a Juris Doctorate degree in 2003.


Judge Stroud's tenure on the bench is marked by decisive leadership and innovation. She adeptly managed a pilot specialty docket, led court committees to new heights, and proudly represented her Court at national conferences, notably contributing to the evolution of juvenile justice.


Her commitment extends beyond the judiciary. As an active member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. and New Covenant Believers' Church, Judge Stroud's heart for her community shines through. She generously dedicates her time as a mentor, supporting and guiding the next generation.


A testament to her resilience, Judge Stroud stands tall as a Breast Cancer Survivor. Her unyielding spirit reflects in her advocacy for change, inspiring those around her with her story of triumph.


Personally, Judge Stroud enjoys life alongside her spouse, Corey, a dedicated school Administrator. Together they raise their two sons, instilling values of commitment, service, and the importance of family bonds.
